The leaves started falling. Big news if you spend time in the woods. We had a blow, and it looked like a blizzard, the kind you see in the Upper Midwest, where the fall is so heavy it’s hard to see.
You still see a lot of green in the canopy. But a lot of the leaves that were changing colors are on the ground.
A lot, but not all. The reds you see in the forest are maples, sorrels and sumacs. The yellows are hickories, persimmons, tulip trees, sweetgums and muscadines.
